About Penny Kiely
I’ve been a cottager in the Dorset area since I was 3 years old when my parents purchased Crown Land on Otter (Tock) Lake and built our first cottage. Every weekend, every holiday was spent “up north” until it drew the entire family to make it our permanent home. First my parents, Ted and Lois Sage, and then a few years later my husband Al and I. My sister and her family followed several years on.
I’ve lived on Kawagama Lake since 1979 and am constantly in awe of its beauty, but there are so many other stunning lakes in the area I’d be hard pressed to name a favourite. Whether it’s the endless miles of boating on Lake of Bays and Kawagama Lake or a paddle in the tranquil and serene waters of Fletcher, Livingstone, Otter, Troutspawn or the many others, it’s the unique beauty and infinite variety of the area that makes it so special. I’m an avid boater, sledder, swimmer and hiker and I never get tired of it. I consider myself extremely fortunate to live and work in such a remarkable paradise.
